Free Tobacco Cessation Classes in
New Locations
For those wanting to kick the tobacco habit, there are three new Free Tobacco Cessation classes being offered by the Central District Health Department (CDHD) at different locations around Boise. The different times and locations are designed to fit a variety of schedules.
The first set of classes begins Wednesday May 18th at the Library! at Collister, 4724 W State Street, Boise. This class consists of five sessions from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.
The two other classes are designed to accommodate downtown workers. A brown bag noon hour class will meet 8 times at Boise City Hall, 150 N Capitol Blvd starting Tuesday May 24th. The final class series will be held at the Statehouse, 700 W Jefferson St, also starting on Tuesday May 24th, with five class sessions from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.
All classes are Free to Idaho residents, but registration is required. Call CDHD at 375-5211 to register for any one of these classes. The tobacco cessation classes are funded by the Idaho Tobacco Millennium Fund.
Tobacco users can also get Free Nicotine Replacement Therapy by calling 1-800-QUIT-NOW (784-8669) or by logging on to Idaho.quitnet.com. Tobacco users can request a 4 week supply of their choice of nicotine patches, gum or lozenges.
