Local Businesses Help Promote Colon Cancer Awareness Month
March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month and ten local businesses are helping to raise awareness of the number two cause of cancer-related deaths in Idaho by putting messages on their sign boards.
“Between 2004 and 2008 nearly 3,000 Idahoans were diagnosed with colon cancer and just over 13-hundred died from the disease,” said Central District Health Department Health Educator Joanne Graff. “These sobering statistics reinforce the need to raise awareness of a disease that is treatable and beatable with early detection. We appreciate the support of these businesses in helping to get the message out.”
