1600 Doses of H1N1 Vaccine Available Monday

The Central District Health Department (CDHD) will have 1600 doses of H1N1 (swine) flu vaccine available Monday November 30th at its only Point of Dispensing (POD) location in Boise. All the vaccine available will be in the injectable form, no nasal spray will be offered. CDHD will operate the POD at the former Comp USA store, 1195 N Milwaukee St, Boise, from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday hoping to vaccinate more Priority Group members.

Priority groups include:

  • Pregnant women
  • People who live with or care for children younger than 6 months of age
  • Healthcare and emergency medical services personnel
  • Persons between the ages of 6 months and 24 years old
  • People 25 through 64 years of age with chronic health disorders or compromised immune systems

CDHD plans to continue POD operations on Mondays through December 21st. The Monday PODs are a good opportunity for children under the age of nine to get the second dose of the vaccine required for full immunization against the flu. The doses must be separated by at least 28 days.

As an added feature, Santa Claus will be present from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Children will be able to visit with Santa after receiving their flu shots.

For additional information call the CDHD Flu Hotline 321-2222.
