Planning

The Central District Health Department's (CDHD) Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and annexes provide details of CDHD's response strategy to a natural or manmade disaster, communicable disease outbreak, or other public health emergency. CDHD has integrated the National Incident Management System (NIMS), as well as the Incident Command System (ICS), in our planning, training, and exercising efforts.

Emergency Operations Plan

The Central District Health Department Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) has been authored and developed to provide a tool to guide this agency's involvement in local emergency management. This document was updated in August of 2010.

The Strategic National Stockpile (SNS)

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Strategic National Stockpile contains a cache of life-saving medicines and medical supplies that will be delivered in the event of a major public health emergency. The stockpile is available to help supplement local resources when they become exhausted. At a minimum, supplies could be delivered to a designated area within 12 hours of the federal decision to deploy these assets.

During the 2009 H1N1 response, CDHD received a supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) and flu antivirals to be used if the current supply within the community had been depleted.
