School and Childcare Immunization Rules Change
April 2011
New immunization rules for childcare and school have been approved by the 2011 Idaho Legislature. The new requirements more closely follow the recommendations of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). The following new requirements became effective April 7, 2011.
IRIS Changes to Opt-Out July 1, 2010
On July 1, 2010 IRIS changed from an opt-in to an opt-out system, meaning newborns will automatically be enrolled in the registry at birth. IRIS remains a voluntary system and parents can opt-out at any time simply by filling out a form, either online or by hard copy, and submitting it to the Idaho Immunization Program (IIP).
