Dental Health

The CDHD Dental Health Program focuses on the prevention of oral diseases in children. Education and preventive dental services are offered through the Fluoride Mouthrinse Program, the Smile Clinics, and the Fluoride Varnish Clinics.

School Fluoride Mouthrinse Program
There are 19 schools participating in this program for the 2006/2007 school year. These schools are located in Ada, Boise and Elmore Counties.

Dental Clinics
Meridian Elementary and Valley County Elementary Schools dental clinics provide screenings, dental sealants, prophylaxis (cleaning), and/or fluoride treatments, and education to Medicaid eligible and uninsured children.

Fluoride Varnish Clinics

Fluoride Varnish Clinics provide dental screenings, fluoride varnish applications and education to Medicaid eligible and uninsured children. Fluoride varnish application will help prevent teeth from getting cavities. These clinics are free to children 6 months to 5 years who are Medicaid eligible, and a sliding fee scale is used for uninsured children.

The Fluoride Varnish Clinics are held at Central District Health offices. Call the nearest office to schedule an appointment.
